APRIL SHOWCASE

Hello all, a few days late here's the monthly update post! Work has been sporadic as I thought it might be but I do have some screenshots for you. None of these scenes are quite finished and I can see some sprite tweaks and things I'll need to do, but we're getting there.

First, an orc scene:

Seeing the actual scene in-game like this provides a better comparison to the satyr screenshot I posted last month actually, it's kind of neat to see the differences. As you can see the satyr scene is a looot gentler even from the offset:

Next, I've been writing the tentacle scenes. Here are a few snapshots for Elior:

I've also been writing the minotaur scenes. I thought I'd show some of the dialogue changes depending on which knight is corrupted, or if both are. This is what happens in Artem's stage 2 minotaur scene if Elior was the one corrupted in stage 1 (meaning both knights are now corrupted):

In contrast, this is what happens if Artem was chosen for stage 1 and stage 2, aka he's doubly corrupted and Elior is untouched. This starts to change the respective knight's behaviour and can cause some friction between the protagonists too:

That's all I have to show off for now. As for what I'm working on next, well...

So, my day job is currently stressful (I've mentioned this before, but I'm a key worker. It's nice to be needed during the pandemic but at the same time, my life is more hectic right now than I'd like it to be). It's impacting my visual novel work, which I do on evenings and weekends, to the point where I can't really promise a consistent flow of updates.

To that end, I have decided to take a break for May. It may end up being June too, we'll see where we are with the world returning to normality. At the moment, for my own well-being, I could do with one less thing to worry about. I hope you all understand.

I have paused Patreon billing for May but since this is only relevant to the Patreon crowd I've made a separate post about it here. If you were considering donating please give it a read before doing so! But for people on Itch and anywhere else this is posted, the main thing is that there won't be an update post next month, though I'll endeavour to post something that lets you know what's happening in June.
