JULY SHOWCASE

Hello everyone, it’s the end of the month already. I can hardly believe we’re on month 8 of this year! Since resuming work at the start of July I’ve basically been catching up on finishing CGs from stage 1 and 2 of the game – stage 3 I’ve left relatively untouched until those first two stages are complete. Among the things I’ve worked on is this CG of Artem with satyrs:

There’s still one more Artem/Satyr CG to complete and that should be stage 1 pretty much done, along with stage 2.

I’ve also finished this CG of main antagonist Lhoriss, which will serve as one of the opening scenes of the game:

It isn’t quite finished as the people over at my Patreon have just voted on an outfit for Lhoriss from the following options:

As you can see Lhoriss has a rather distinctive fashion sense! Lots of straps and latex. Unfortunately some of the intricacies of the designs have been lost to censorship (since this is a public post). But the top right design took the poll, so that will be added to the above CG to make up the final version.

Lastly, and something new for those following the weekly updates at Patreon, I’ve been thinking about stage 3. By stage 3 the transformation mechanic starts to make itself known, with differing dialogue depending on which protagonist is transformed (or indeed if both of them are). If one protagonist is focused on they will undergo a physical transformation by the end of the game, much as Atreus and Ollin in the original Corrupter did! It took a while to decide which direction to take this in but I’ve decided Elior shall be…

…A minotaur! Fun fact, mino-Elior’s fur was originally going to be the same blonde as his hair until I remembered that his hair is dyed… he does however have a fancy set of golden horns.

Another fact, originally Artem was slated to transform into a minotaur as I thought it’d be interesting to have his gentle personality steadily get more aggressive, but when it came to actually writing I realised it suited Elior far better. Instead, this corruption path will focus on physical change rather than mental, with Elior getting steadily taller/more muscular, which I imagine will please anyone who liked Atreus’ original transformation!

I’ll be working on the mino-Elior sprite as well as another in-between stage, which should trigger if Elior’s corruption progresses to a certain point. Possibly some variety to the stage 3 CGs if Elior is beefed up or not. I’ll show off the progress with that next month!

Now as for Artem’s transformation… that’s still being worked on so that’ll stay secret for now. I will say that it probably won’t be in the same vein as Elior’s (aka NOT a change into a big beefy monster) because that would be quite same-y. I did consider having them both transform into satyrs because it’d be cute to have them turn up as a pair in future games, but again I thought this might be a bit unsatisfying since it’s effectively the same ending for both of them. If you think that sounds great however, or you have any other thoughts, I’d love to hear them.

That’s all for this month, so I’ll see you next time…
